Wow! What a bizarre item!
In 1938 Stanley Home Products offered this measuring tape which they called "A Tattle-Tape for Women," because "It-Tells-On-You." The tape measures 60" and is about 5/8" wide. Along the front of the tape are the advertisements and on the back is information about body weights and measurements and boxes and grids to write one's own measurements.
This tape is made of a thick, brown paper, and not a fibrous one, like I have seen others to be made of. This one may have been produced slightly later than 1938, most likely the 1940's or 50's.
